Accessibility
Last updated: May 2026
We want Doha Dish to be usable by everyone, regardless of ability or the technology they use. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a finish line.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA where reasonably achievable. In practice, that means we try to ensure:
- Sufficient colour contrast for text and interface elements
- Keyboard access to navigation, filters, and links
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images
- Clear, consistent headings and page structure
- Layouts that adapt to mobile screens and to browser zoom
Known limitations
The interactive map relies on a third-party mapping library and may be harder to use with some assistive technologies. Where the map is the only way to find something, the same venues are always available as a text listing with full details.
Ongoing work
As a small independent project we improve accessibility incrementally. If you hit a barrier, telling us about it is the fastest way to get it fixed, because real feedback shapes what we prioritise.
Report a problem
If any part of the site is hard to use, please contact us via the contact page and describe the problem, the page, and the device or assistive technology you're using. We'll do our best to help and to fix the underlying issue.
