Editorial Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Doha Dish is a hobby project and independent guide. This page explains how we decide what to cover, how we keep our listings accurate, and the principles we follow (currently and in future) to maintain editorial independence.
What we list
We aim to cover every Friday brunch and Saturday brunch in Doha that's open to the public — not just the ones that pay us or invite us. A venue does not need any relationship with us to be listed, and we don't remove honest coverage because a venue asks us to.
How we verify
Every listing carries a last checked date instead of a star rating. When we publish or update a venue, we confirm the details directly by contacting the venue and checking official sources:
- Price per person (soft and, where relevant, with beverages)
- Day, timing, and last entry
- Whether the package or concept is still running
- Amenities — parking, outdoor seating, kids' activities, accessibility, and the like
If we haven't recently re-confirmed a detail, the date tells you so. Prices in Doha change often — always confirm with the venue before you go.
Why we don't use star ratings
Opaque five-star scores invite manipulation and tell you very little. We'd rather show you verified facts — price, timing, what's included, real photographs — and let you decide. Where we express an opinion, we say so plainly and explain why.
Editorial independence
Doha Dish currently has no paid placements or commercial relationships. All coverage is editorial and independent.
If we ever accept paid featured placements in the future, they will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" or "Featured." A commercial relationship would buy visibility, never editorial favouritism. We will never describe a brunch as good because a venue paid us, and any paying venue will receive the same verified-facts treatment as everyone else.
Corrections
We make mistakes. If a price is stale, a venue has closed, or a detail is wrong, tell us via the contact page and we'll fix it quickly. Significant corrections are reflected in the listing's last checked date.
Sources & photographs
Where a photograph isn't our own, it's licensed or used with permission. We don't pass off marketing renders as real photos — if an image is supplied by the venue, we treat it accordingly.
